Letters Home #1

Dear Dad,

I hope you don’t mind if I call you that.  You’ve been more of one than my real father has, and I’d choose you over him any day of the week.  A father and a big brother all rolled into one.  I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to find the words to express how grateful I am.  I know, it’s part of your “job” as the head of the family, but I still feel the need to say thank you.

Did you get the card I sent you?  As soon as I saw it, I had to get it for you.

The post cards I’ve included with this letter are for Iron Mountain Park.   I can see it out the front door of my house.  I’ve moved in and am more or less settled, but it’s not the cabin and doesn’t feel like home.  I don’t know if it ever will.  Someday soon, I hope, I’ll be home again, and get all of my life back.

Until then, keep an eye on Her for me.

Love,

Rey
