Timeline for Mythic Changeling

Winter 2011 – Spring 2011

  • January 1, 2011. Onset of Dusk (starts on page 5 of A Fey Gathering)– the Dusk Court arrives. Also referred to as the Glacial Axe, they are a court dedicated to fighting the True Fae that threaten the Duchy. They specialize in direct confrontation.
  • January through June. Dusk gathers many recruits, swelling ranks to over a score changelings.
  • Early May. Rey arrives in Mythic.

Summer 2011

  • June 21-23, 2011. Five changelings gather and face a mad Hunter bent on defeating monsters and adding their powers to his own. The new name they’ve given themselves as members of the new motley is the Glymjacks. As part of their pact, they form a secret language both verbal and signed, that they use privately.

July – August. The motley undertakes several personal projects.

  • Rey takes over a stable of ladies of the night with Mizuko’s help, saving them from assassination. She sets up business again. Rey is then offered a Job Opportunity (followed by The Casino and Meeting Stormfront) by Lyla Clairborne who is acting on behalf of a pack of werewolves. Rey also receives a unique invitation to receive a rare entitlement called Lady Sage of the Unknown Reaches due to her unique knowledge of werewolves and werewolf culture. Full Moon Run
  • Mizuko attempts to re-tool her life. At her Queen’s request she must give up life as a recluse living mostly in the Hedge or a pond in a park. She starts working full time for Rey, with the understanding that her duties for the Queen will take precedence. That includes her service offered to the motley and especially Less Seleman. Therefore, she arranges the hiring of an assistant to help her manage the new brothel when her tasks take her elsewhere in A New Enterprise. After a summer of being stalked by the assassin she foiled during the rescue of the prostitutes, she is finally shot. She isn’t killed immediately, however, and manages to engineer the assassin’s death in return. As she hovered near death, she displays clear signs of a peculiar form of madness — a reaction to the dramatic changes her life has undergone.
  • Simon spent some time tracking down his fetch and discovered his double was making his way through life as a priest, following his father’s footsteps. William Drew now resided in Phoenix however and seemed not to be making a large mess of Simon’s previous life. His father, once a hateful figure, is now, 20 years later, a withered, dying man wracked with cancer. Simon then spends much of his time setting up new business interests after being chosen as Chancellor of Spring. As the Chancellor, his responsibility is largely financial. The Queen herself was poor at handling her own income, and the court itself needed better management. They engaged in a pledge of vassalage on a trial basis, giving Simon a year to get things going. If all parties were satisfied, it is presumed a more permanent pledge will be offered at the end of this time. Finally, Simon opened a nightclub. Renovations and hiring people took up all his remaining time, but by the time Autumn arrived, Glass House was ready. Greenbacks And The Emerald Court
  • Rover sets up a new, small repair shop. He was also in charge of the expansions of the new motley’s Hollow. Originally a space donated by Mizuko. Rover also receives detailed information on the two tokens recovered by the motley during a side trip to a Hedge town called Circledell undertaken during the motley’s first mission together. One, a pair of dead man’s boots, proved a powerful aid to stealth. The other, an amber flask, proved to be a kind of genie’s bottle that could provide safe refuge — or lasting prison.
  • Less delivered a report about Circledell, the once-changeling and fae village that had been destroyed by the Goblin King. The battle that had ruined the town had also claimed the life of Autumn’s Legate of Mists called Longinus Fray. Fray, Less eventually uncovered, had been Mizuko’s mentor and possibly much more. His murder rested heavily upon her, but his report of the cannibal infestation and light Goblin King presence was met coolly by the Great Courts. Although the Summer King was in favor of a strike proposed by Less’s report, he declined with the explanation that the Duchy had suffered losses during the conflict with the Goblin King that resulted in many high-ranking offices being vacant. In essence, the King told Less that he and the Queens of the Duchy agree — the freehold cannot afford a renewal of open conflict with the Goblin King. However, Less was approached separately by a pair of Knights from the minor court called the Glacial Axe who asked if they could use his information network to gain further information on Circledell and from which to launch a strike of their own. Less was still considering the consequences if he should agree at summer’s end.

The motley sets out then to find a cure for the poisoning and a method to cleanse the spring at their Hedge-based home.
