There are many common principles of behavior that we, as Jedi, take to on a daily basis.  Most of these things should come naturally to everyone but there are a few things I do expect everyone to adhere to at all times.  They are listed as follows:

    1. Respect your Fellows:  There should be no ill will towards our fellow members of the Order.  Regardless of the rank they may take, a polite bow, or in times of rushed action a simple incline of the head, is a simple gesture we should all be taking from the newest Padawan all the way up to the Voice of the Order.  When meeting other Jedi it is customary for each to bow in respect.  This simple gesture can go a long way towards maintaining civility.

    2. Respect your Masters:  The Masters of the Order have been placed into the positions they are in because of their dedication to the ideals of the Jedi Order.  Aside from the customary bow it is expected that you address them as ‘Master’ when asking formal questions unless they have notified you to do so otherwise.  It’s also customary to speak with the utmost courtesy to them in traditional conversation.  Avoid accusatory tone or statements.  If you question the methods of a Master in training, or operation, please inquire first the reasons for their methods so you might learn.  Often what might seem an unusual action has more commonplace meaning.

    3. Respect Yourself:  We, as Jedi, are expected to hold to a certain idealism when it comes to our own personal appearance and mannerisms.  Lewd or inappropriate behavior are not warranted at any time in a public setting.  We realize you have personal lives and we are not here to interfere with such.  When in a public forum, especially ones involving members outside of V.I., conduct yourself with composure, civility and decency.  You are also expected to conduct your own person with respect.  Keep your own personal appearance in line at all times.  This does not mean we have a dress code, you are free to wear what you wish, but please remember that we often have dignitaries in from various worlds.  Please conduct your appearance to one that measures to a higher standard than to appear indecent or improper.

    4. Respect your Surroundings:  We have two magnificent facilities and have use of a capital ship.  These are the responsibility of the Jedi Order to maintain.  While some minor damage during training exercises is expected, it also stands to reason that it’s also expected that you help to maintain these facilities and keep them orderly and neat.  If you find something out of place, please take the initiative to help put it in it’s proper place.  Our resources for maintaining these facilities are also limited so please do your best to prevent any needless damage to these locations.

    5. An Open Door Policy:  Every Master of the Order, including myself, has an open door policy when it comes to aiding in any problems you may encounter.  If you find yourself in a dilemma you need resolved, have questions needing answered, or simply need a friendly ear to hear your troubles, don’t hesitate to find any of us, even if we directly aren’t your assigned Master.  We will not turn you away if we can legitimately help.

    6. Keepers of the Light:  We are a version of the Jedi Order that explores the use of the Light Side of the Force exclusively.  While we have reference material in our archives pertaining to dark powers we at no time make use of such as it leads down the path of the Dark Side.  We have no Dark Side masters and do not plan to employ any as we did under previous versions of the Order.  Your training should at all times consist of use of Light Side powers.  Do not give into the temptation of the Dark Side.  We will do our best to guide you in the proper direction but understand that continued use of Dark Side powers when instructed to avoid doing so may result in action taken to stave that use off.  This is not meant as a warning in the least.  We consider our Jedi our family and will do our utmost to keep you on the path of the Light so if you ever feel yourself waning, please find a Knight, Master or myself to speak with.
