The Arcanum
The Highest Circle of Wizards which is tasked as judges for high impact wizardly issues, protect traditions, protect the Wizard’s Code and the Peripheral Code. Do not deal with day to day affairs.

  • Joining is by invitation only and for 10 years only.
  • Invitations must seek Mayorial, Temple, and Concilium advice and consent
  • All have 40 years of experience or more.
  • All have been Masters.
  • All have been Archmages.
  • All have headed a College or a House (or both).
  • All have served on the Inner Council.
  • All have served on the Outer Council, the Tribunal Council, or as a Wizard Marshal.
  • All are wizards in good standing in the Guild with no outstanding debts, obligations, fielty, or loyalties.

The Inner Council
The Circle of Twelve Wizards tasked with running the Guild according to Sidonius’ Plan. They adjudicate challenges between Houses, set broad magical policy, are judges on important magic cases brought to them by the Quaestors, and set membership requirements. They also approve Wizard Wars, Wizard Marches, new Houses, and the like when recommended to do so by the Outer Council. 

  • Joining is through an election for a 7-year term
  • Suffrage is the current Outer Council, the Tribunal Council, all active Masters, Teachers, and Archmages. The vote is taken during the Grand Tribunal.
  • The candidate must be approved by the Arcanum.
  • The candidate must be nominated by the Mayor
  • All have 25 years of experience or more.
  • All have been Masters.
  • All have been Archmages.
  • All have headed a College or a House (or both).
  • All have served on the Outer Council, the Tribunal Council, or as a Wizard Marshal.
  • All are wizards in good standing in the Guild with no outstanding debts, obligations, fielty, or loyalties.

The Outer Council
The Circle of Sixty-Four Wizards tasked with specific legislation and policy on a recurring basis. They allow for open debate on policy, new magic, and specific members actions. They are the lifeblood of magical discourse and engagement. Most of their meetings are open to the Guild Public, wizard or not. Redcaps and Spellsingers may join and usually have representatives.

  • Joining is through an election for a 3-year term (staggered)
  • Suffrage is all wizards, redcaps, and bards of high stature.
  • The candidate must be nominated by a House, a College, or any member of the Inner Council, Arcanum, Mayor, Concilium, or the Temple.
  • All have 10 years of experience or more.
  • All have been Masters, Archmages or headed or seconded a College or a House.
  • All are wizards in good standing in the Guild with no outstanding debts, obligations, fielty, or loyalties.

The Tribunal Council
The Circle of Twenty-Four delegations tasked with regional governance. Meets every seven years concerning the Guild itselve, the Tribunals themselves, areas of concern, and areas of conflict. Send recommendations to the Outer Council for debate and coordinate on the implementation of policy.

  • Members are sent from each tribunal.
  • Experience is not a factor, but they tend to be politically astute and trusted by their peers.
